Luxury "Gypsy" Wagon Glamping in Milford on Sea

Queenie is the newest addition to our eclectic collection of unique accommodations. She’s an authentic, lovingly restored Vardo — a traditional Romany wagon — originally built around 1830 by the renowned Tong wagon makers of Kearsley, UK. Tong wagons are famous for their exquisite craftsmanship, intricate carvings, and rich decorative details — enduring symbols of the Romany people’s artistic heritage and their remarkable skill in creating dwellings that were both beautiful and practical for a life on the move. Nestled just outside our pottery studio, Queenie now offers an inspiring and creative retreat for anyone joining one of our pottery courses.

Like Rosie, Queenie’s interior has been lovingly and thoughtfully finished — from the thick, velvet, custom-made curtains and cushions to the handmade cut-glass knobs on every window and cupboard. The full-size double bed is supremely comfortable at 6ft in length; just note that there’s no room for feet to extend over the end. It comes with a thick duvet, plenty of blankets, and a powerful heater to keep you cosy during the winter months.

Breakfast is served in the atmospheric victorian stables at a time that suits you. This also serves as a gallery so not only will you have a delicious spread of freshly baked croissants, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, toast and homemade jams, all served on tableware made in the pottery, but you can peruse the pots and artwork at the same time! Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.

Queenie is kitted out with kettle and choice of hot drinks as well as a selection of New Forest Aromatics toiletries in the wet room/ shower room which is just behind the wagon.  The leafy outside area has a fire pit and comfortable garden furniture providing a somewhere to sit, enjoy a cuppa and think about the pots you are making in the studio!

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate children in the wagon.

There is a 2 night minimum stay at weekends, but you can try for 1 night at the last minute!
